Shodan no Maki:

 

There are 5 Kyu levels.  We have no set Kyu Cirriculum, everyone learns the same techniques regardless of experience.  Kyu ranks are issued based on how much the student knows.  The Shodan no Maki is as follows:

 

Ukemi (Evasion ):

Sokuho Kaiten - side roll

Zenpo Kaiten - foreward roll

Koho Kaiten - back roll

Hanza Kaiten - half seated roll

Tatenagare - upright flowing

Zenpo-Koho Kaiten - foreward into back roll

 

Kamae (Postures/Full body Attitudes):

Shizen no Kamae - Natural posture

Hira no Kamae - flat posture

Hoko no Kamae - angry bear posture

Ichimonji no Kamae - #1 posture

Seigan no Kamae - correct eye posture

Hicho no Kamae - flying bird posture

Jumonji no Kamae - #10 posture
